The John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development, based at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is a dynamic research and policy institute devoted to strengthening the nation’s workforce. The Heldrich Center is one of the nation’s leading university-based centers focused on workforce development and devoted to translating research into policy and practice to meet the needs of America’s workers and employers. The Center’s policy recommendations and programs benefit a wide range of Americans, from job counselors to single mothers working their way of welfare from literacy volunteers to dislocated older workers…from teachers seeking career information for students in poor rural districts to corporate CEO’s confronting the loss of skilled employees to retirement.
The Center specializes in, among other things, workforce and economic analysis that guides and supports state, regional, and local economic growth and job creation. Center researchers conduct sophisticated qualitative and quantitative analyses that provide a snapshot of local economic developments and industry markets as well as the concentration and characteristics of the available workforce and workforce services and educational programs.

The Central New Jersey Health Care Talent Network (CNJHCTN) is funded by the Johnson and Johnson Family of Companies. Its goal is to produce useful and usable information about jobs and education in the health care industry in central New Jersey. The career and education awareness information produced by the CNJHCTN is New Jersey-specific, based on cutting-edge labor market information, builds off the good work already being done in the region, and is fully vetted by health care employer and education experts.
