Gloucester County College requires all newly-admitted students to take the college Placement Test. All first-time, full-time students are required to take the Placement Test after admission but prior to registering for classes. This exam is given to place students at current ability levels in reading, writing, and mathematics. Students are tested in reading and writing skills, mathematics/pre-algebra, and in elementary algebra.

Can I be exempt from taking the placement test?
Students who have achieved the required test scores on the SAT, PSAT or the ACT Composite may qualify for an exemption from portions of the placement test. Please click HERE for more details on those test scores and for additional exemptions.
