ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION FOR PATROL OFFICERS
This course is designed to give the patrol officer with little or no formal training in accident investigation better insight into the proper interpretation and gathering of physical evidence at a motor vehicle collision. This is a hands-on course designed to teach the basic fundamentals of digital photography at various types of scenes. BICYCLE PATROL SCHOOL
This course is taught by an International Police Mountain Bike Association certified instructor and includes training in accident avoidance, comfort and efficiency, stair climbs and descents, legal rights of cyclists, liability concerns of bike patrols, bicycle handling skills, emergency maneuvers, and much more. A high quality mountain bike, bike uniforms, at least three weeks riding experience prior to the start of the class, bicycling gloves, eye protection, and a full medical clearance are required prior to the start of class.

CHILD FATALITY INVESTIGATIONS

It provides in-depth coverage of the skills your people need to systemically investigate a traffic accident, including the ability to recognize critical evidence at the scene and to preserve and record it promptly. DDC 8 DEFENSIVE DRIVING COURSE
This eight-hour National Safety Council Defensive Driving Course will provide drivers with knowledge and safe driving techniques to prevent collisions and violations. The course addresses common driving violations that result in collisions and how to change driving habits to eliminate moving violations. Students will learn how to recognize both potential and immediate hazards, how to avoid collisions in a variety of driving conditions, and how to choose safe and legal driving behaviors. This Tactics Instructor add-on program was developed for agencies desiring to train and certify departmental instructors in the use of techniques and tactics for actions to prevent officers from being disarmed and/or held at gun point. EVENT DATA RECORDER USE IN TRAFFIC CRASH RECONSTRUCTION
This comprehensive course will teach officers how to operate the Bosch Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) system hardware and software to image crash data from supported car and light truck event data recorders (EDR’s), as well as analyze the downloaded data and apply it to their reconstructions. Some of the many topics in the course include: Selecting the Proper Imaging Method, Analyzing Any Set of EDR Data Encountered, Regardless of Manufacturer, Recognizing the Six Vehicle Operational Conditions Where EDR Speed Data Has Been Improperly Used, Determining the Effect that Equipment Modifications Have on EDR Speed Data, Calculating the Appropriate Ranges for Speed at Impact for Different EDR’s, Using OEM Specific Excel Templates to Analyze EDR Data, and much more. EXPLOSIVES AND IED FAMILIARIZATION
This course will provide an introduction to and familiarization with explosives. It will assist the officer in the identification of explosives and examine precautions to be taken in an explosives and/or improvised explosive device (IED) incident. The class will provide the officer with an overview of the federal explosives statutes enforced by the ATF and the interagency cooperation that goes into an explosives-related investigation. FIREARMS INSTRUCTOR COURSE
The objective of this course is to equip the student with the expertise to develop and administer departmental firearms programs. Successful completion of the course will also qualify the participant for certification to instruct in basic training and in-service programs.
Subject material includes the legal responsibilities of a range master, legal and moral use of deadly force, vicarious liability, nomenclature, care and maintenance of the modern handgun, gun battle statistics, teaching single and double action shooting, range management and record keeping, and methods of instructing various revolver, shotgun, semi-automatic handgun courses. IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT AND IDENTITY DOCUMENTS
This three-hour course provides a basic overview of immigration enforcement for the law enforcement community. It covers the various groups of immigrants commonly encountered by the patrol officer and detective during the normal course of their duties, as well as the tools available to properly identify a foreign national and notify ICE pursuant to any arrest involving them. It also provides instruction on how to comply with the New Jersey Attorney General’s Directive 2007-3 regarding the arrest of suspected illegal aliens. This one-day course is designed to provide law enforcement officers with an overview of New Jersey’s internal affairs process and its purpose within law enforcement agencies. The program will outline the basic steps that should be followed when conducting internal investigations of misconduct by department personnel and will focus on procedural issues. Some of the topics that will be covered will include: the rights of a citizen filing a complaint, the rights of an officer subject to a complaint, a review of the New Jersey Attorney General’s Internal Affairs Policy and Procedures, and recommendations to reduce citizen complaints. This class is a Police Training Commission approved course designed for officers who plan to teach at police schools and/or in their respective departments.
Topics include selecting appropriate teaching methods, establishing goals and performance objectives, and constructing lesson plans. An overview of the principles of learning, classroom management, and the selection and use of training aids will also be discussed.

PRESCRIPTION DRUG INVESTIGATIONS & TRENDS
This eight-hour training is presented by Purdue Pharmaceuticals. Instructors are retired law enforcement officers with experience investigating crime associated with pharmaceutical drug diversion. Generally, the course will cover prescription drug identification, lawful prescribing, abuse and diversion, and RxPatrol. Presenters will discuss specific charges to file in our state. This 8-hour course has been standardized to include those topics that are either required or recommended by the New Jersey Attorney General's Office. This class should be mandatory for first-line supervisors, as well as field training officers and coaches. The course draws upon material from police supervision courses by such authors as Iannone, Bennett, and Hess. Topics covered include, but are not limited to, Equity Theory, The Role of Management and Leadership in Law Enforcement, Motivation Decision Making and Problem Solving, Ethics and Cultural Diversity, Supervisors Liability, Leadership, Supervision, and Command Presence, Internal Affairs for the First-Line Supervisor, Handling Critical Incidents, and the Role of the Supervisor.

This installment of the TROT program is designed for any law enforcement professional who will one day need to apply physical force to control, arrest, or defend themselves against aggressive combative subjects. Whether working as a patrol officer or performing a SWAT mission, the force learned will be appropriate hands-on techniques that can be applied to real life, use of force situations.
Upon completion, regardless of size or experience, participants will enhance their readiness and competence during unarmed physical confrontations. A special emphasis will be placed on ground fighting skills, because almost all police/combatant encounters, at some point will end up on the ground. This course will give offices a good foundation in ground combat techniques and a working knowledge of how to prevail in violent criminal confrontations.
In addition to the physical application, this program also provides training in the mental skills necessary for a complete understanding of a comprehensive defensive tactics program, which includes: verbal communications tactics, mindset, pre-fight indicators, common suspect altercation patterns, reasonable force, reversals/escapes, strikes, take-downs, ground defense, and weapon retention.
NOTE: All techniques will flow naturally into a prone handcuffing position. All participants will practice the application of the appropriate techniques with an emphasis on control and proper form. TRAFFIC CRASH RECONSTRUCTION
This class builds upon IPTM's Advanced Traffic Crash Investigation course by assisting officers further in understanding vehicle dynamics. Students will take part in a more intense study of time/distance calculations, angular momentum, and impact speed calculations using momentum equations. Topics include: derivation and origin of the commonly used speed formulas, speed of vehicles at impact using conservation of linear momentum, behavior of vehicles in a collision using Newton's three laws of motion, discussions of commercial vehicle and motorcycle dynamics in collisions, and the determination of direction of travel, initial contact and position of vehicles on the roadway. Prerequisite: IPTM's Advanced Traffic Crash Investigation (80 hours) course or its equivalent. New Jersey officers will be given preference over out-of-state officers in the registration process:

TRAFFIC CRASH RECONSTRUCTION UPDATE
This class provides the latest theories and methodologies of crash reconstruction and expand students’ knowledge on the principles of collision analysis. More than just a refresher class, instructors will present topics that have previously received limited coverage as well as many new ones. While the course can be thought of as “in-service” training for traffic crash reconstructionists, ACTAR candidates will also find it beneficial. Instructors will review mathematical equations that are used in conjunction with crash data to interpret how a collision occurred. Emphasis will be placed on skid characteristics, spin analysis, critical speed yaw analysis and friction. The concepts of time-distance, uniform circular motion, pole impacts, conservation of linear momentum and using simultaneous equations to solve inline collisions are just a few of the topics that will be covered. Prerequisite: IPTM's Advanced Traffic Crash Reconstruction course or its equivalent. New Jersey officers will be given preference over out-of-state officers in the registration process:
