English as a Second Language (ESL) students welcomed Gloucester County College President William F. Anderson (center) to their class during a visit to Saint Matthew’s Baptist Church in Williamstown. The women, natives of Turkey, are learning to read, write and speak English more proficiently thanks to a New Jersey Labor and Workforce Development grant recently awarded to the college. Gloucester County College’s ESL Plus program helps immigrants and others with limited English develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become active and informed parents, workers, and community members.
