Gloucester County College nursing graduate Richard Sholders of Pennsville poses with his family.
Deptford Twp. – Gloucester County College nursing graduate Richard Sholders of Pennsville poses with his family — wife Cassandra and children Mason and Allie — outside of the college’s Physical Education Center on May 14 following the Nurses’ Pinning Ceremony. Sholders, a Coast Guard veteran, was one of the 46 men and women who have dedicated the past two years to pursuing a career in nursing. The annual ceremony celebrates the educational accomplishments of students who have chosen a career devoted to helping others.

“I would like to eventually work with the VA,” said Sholders when asked about his future nursing plans. “I want to give back to our veterans.” Sholders is president of the Student Veterans Organization and a member of the Student Nursing Organization and the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Gloucester County College is located on a 250-acre campus on Tanyard Road in Deptford, just off Exit 56 of Route 55.
