“Interviewing Life-Skills Workshop” — Nancy Hawn, M.S., NJAPM, will share the tips and information necessary to secure a job interview. In today’s market, an invitation to interview is a major victory. During the session, individuals will practice their communication skills as well as learn how their behavior before and after the interview can make a difference. “Building a Marketing Plan” — Marion Chamberlain from the Women’s Center for Entrepreneurship Corp. will provide marketing strategies for small business owners through this interactive workshop. Topics include the right media mix, using public relations to stand out from the crowd and low-cost promotional strategies that allow small businesses to maximize their precious marketing dollars. “Preparing to Enter Today’s Job Market” — People in Transition facilitator Eileen Adezio will lend a hand to job seekers who want to exceed employers’ expectations in today’s competitive job market. Discussion topics include how to get your resume noticed, effective interviewing skills and appropriate business attire. The importance of networking and various industry cultures within the workplace will also be explored. It meets Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
“Divorce Process” — James M. Carter, Esquire, will give an overview of the divorce process and what to expect before electing divorce. It meets Thursday, Aug. 22 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
“How to Teach Your Children Effective Study Skills” — Donna Reynolds, M.A. Elementary Education, N.J. Teaching Certificate K-8, will offer valuable study-skills techniques to reinforce what children learn in the classroom. All parents are welcome to attend this session to jumpstart their children’s academic success, just in time for the new school year. It meets Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.
