Deptford Twp. – High school students preparing to enter the arena of higher education are invited to attend the Gloucester County Professional Counselor Association’s annual College Fair on Thursday, Oct. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gloucester County College.
University representatives from as near as Philadelphia and as far as Boston and Tampa Bay will venture to the GCC campus to discuss the many academic opportunities awaiting students. Parents and teens can learn more about financial aid and scholarship assistance as well as obtain literature on programs of study, campus amenities and student life. Two $50 scholarships will be raffled off.
“Students will be exposed to colleges and universities that they may not otherwise have the chance to learn about and be able to compare them to our local colleges,” said GCC Admissions/Outreach Administrator Megan Ruttler. “It will give them the opportunity to have many of their questions answered.”
More than 100 institutions will participate in this year’s event. Such include Boson, Drexel, East Stroudsburg, Penn State, Rowan, Rutgers, Saint Joseph’s and West Virginia universities; the Culinary Institute of America, Art Institute of Philadelphia and Moore College of Art.
Those interested in staying local can tour the GCC campus and speak to admissions personnel. The College has the lowest per-credit tuition rate in the state of New Jersey. It offers more than 70 academic and career programs in addition to a comprehensive, award-winning 13-sport Athletic Department.
The College Fair will take place in the GCC Physical Education Center. For more information call 856-415-2232.View a list of Participating Universities.
