Deptford Twp. – The Gloucester County College Division of Continuing Education will host an information session for its new Construction Operator Technician program on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. at the Continuing Education Center.

This 124-hour training program prepares students to perform a number of gas pipeline construction activities, ranging from plastic pipe fusion and installation, to reading and regulating gas meters. During the session, interested individuals will learn more about the course curriculum and employment opportunities in the natural gas industry.

Students will receive instruction in detecting leaks, inspecting pipes, installing gas meters, performing indicator readings, examining pressure gauges and deciphering pipeline drawings. They will also participate in hands-on training at the South Jersey Gas facility.

Upon successful completion, students will be prepared to take the National Gas Association New Construction Operator Qualification Exam. For more information or to register for the upcoming information session, call 856-415-2216.

The Gloucester County College Continuing Education Center is located at 1492 Tanyard Road in Deptford, right off Exit 56 of Route 55.
