Deptford Twp. – The DancElectric troupe of the Corrine Gangi Dance Center will return to the Gloucester County College stage for its “Dazzlin’ Dancin’” scholarship benefit Saturday, April 6 at 8 p.m.

An amalgam of genres, the performance brings together classic favorites such as ballet, jazz, lyrical and Irish step with tap, hip hop and modern dance. DancElectric is comprised of volunteer wives, mothers and daughters who are all teachers and working professionals from the surrounding community. Each company member is adept in a variety of advanced choreography featured in the 75-minute show
.
The fundraiser was started by Corrine Gangi and her husband Raymond, who is a professor at the College. Since its start in 1995, DancElectric has helped raise nearly $50,000 for the GCC Foundation’s Scholarship Fund.

While much of this year’s spring performance profits will go directly to the Foundation, $500 will be allocated to the Gangi Arts Scholarship and another $250 will be awarded for books and supplies. Both are presented each year to a GCC student involved in the arts. In 2007, the Corrine Gangi Dance Center donated $10,000 to create an endowment, which through investments, provides a perpetual scholarship opportunity for future students.

Tickets are $18 if purchased in advanced and $20 at the door. All proceed will be donated to the GCC Foundation. For more information or to purchase tickets call the Corrine Gangi Dance Center at 856-589-4840 or the GCC Foundation at 856-681-6202.

GCC’s 250-acre campus is located at 1400 Tanyard Road in Deptford, right off Exit 56 of Route 55.
