Deptford Twp. – Individuals with a taste for fine wine, food and philanthropy can help students “Spring into Success” during the Gloucester County College Foundation’s annual gala Saturday, April 13 at 6:30 p.m.

This year’s black tie affair, which will take place at Auletto’s Caterers in Deptford, marks the Foundation’s 32nd anniversary of promoting student achievement through scholarships. Attendees will enjoy live music by the Juliano Brothers, a four-course dinner and dancing as well as their choice of an abundance of silent-auction items.

All items up for bid have been graciously donated in order for all proceeds to go directly to the GCC General Scholarship Fund. Such include four tickets to Disney World, boxed seats to the Philadelphia Phillies–Florida Marlins game, a signed baseball by the Phillies starting lineup, Eagles memorabilia and tickets to the Pitman Theater. A large-screen TV, Barnes and Noble Nook and original artwork provide something for everyone. Unique and chic costume jewelry will also be raffled off.

In addition, Dr. Richard Gutowski and members of the South Jersey Federal Credit Union will be celebrated as the Foundation’s 2013 guests of honor.

Dr. Gutowski served on the Foundation Board and its scholarship committee for eight years. Possessing both a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctorate from Rutgers School of Law, he believed learning was an integral part of life. Also being recognized for its commitment to education is the South Jersey Federal Credit Union, which has pledged $25,000 in student scholarships over the next 10 years.

According to Foundation Director of Development Raymond Page, last year’s event raised more than $40,000. This year, he anticipates close to 225 guests and hopes to generate $50,000 on behalf of students. The Foundation gifts more than $100,000 in scholarships annually.

Tickets are $125 a person, and special individual and corporate sponsorships are still available. Major sponsors of the 2013 “Spring into Success” Gala are Archer & Greiner, Bank of America, T.D. Bank, NuStar Asphalt Refining, LLC., PBF Energy and Konrad Beer Distributing, Inc.
