1. What does the program cost?

Approx. $2,400.00 tuition per semester (5 semesters)
Approx. $2,900.00 for tools (see below for financing information)

2. Does the program have to be paid for up front?

No. You will pay tuition for each semester as you enroll.  Financial Aid, as well as various scholarships, are available for ASSET students. Please contact the Gloucester County College Financial Aid Office at 856-415-2210 for information.  You will be required to purchase your tools at the beginning of the program. However, two-year financing is available at a monthly cost of approximately $180.00.

3. How much will I make during my co-op work session?

You will earn more than $14,800.00 over the course of the four co-op sessions.

4. Must I find my own sponsoring dealer?

No. The ASSET program finds sponsors.

5. Must I stay with my sponsoring dealer after graduation?

No.  We would like you to, but there is no obligation.

6. What are the requirements to enter the program?

The requirements are as follows:

  1. 18 years old
  2. Valid driver’s license
  3. High school graduate or equivalent
  4. Apply to Gloucester County College
  5. Complete the GCC Placement Test or Exemption Form
  6. Assigned to a sponsoring Ford or Lincoln Mercury dealer
  7. Successful completion of GCIT and Dealership interview
  8. A personal Computer with internet access
  9. Since some dealers require drug tests, you must be able to pass a random drug test

7. How can I earn a two-year associate degree program in two years when I am on co-op 50% of the time?

We go to school all summer and each class day is a little longer than a regular college day.

8. How will I know when I am accepted?

After successful application and acceptance to the College, you will be interviewed by  the program coordinator. After this interview, you will be notified of program acceptance.

9. How do I take the GCC Placement Test?

Call the Gloucester County College Learning Resource Center at 856-415-2268 or 856-415-2248 for the times and dates.

10. How do I know if I am exempt from the GCC Placement Test?

Read the blue GCC Placement Test Exemption Form for a complete list of exemption criteria. The forms are available in the Office of Enrollment Services at 856-415-2209.

11. What do I do if the test indicates I need remedial courses?

You must register and complete the remedial courses before the program begins. Remedial courses are offered during the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.
