Testing Center: Academic Test Proctoring Center: Make-Up Testing FAQs
 

Q. Where is the Academic Test Proctoring Center located?
A. We are located in the LRC Building across from the library and above the book store.

Q. Do I need an appointment?
A. Although appointments are encouraged, GCC on-campus students may walk-in and be administered a test without an appointment based on your individual test and our hours of operation.

Q. Will I be charged for this service?
A. This service is provided to GCC students as a courtesy, there is no fee charged.

Q. This is my first time coming to testing center for make-up test, what will I need to take my test?
A. You will need the following:

  1. Photo ID is required
  2. Know your student identification # i.e.  A000123456
  3. Know your Instructor's name
  4. Know your course code

When you arrive have your photo ID ready and someone will assist you with the log in process.

Q. I work during the day, are there evening or weekend hours available for testing?
A.  Yes – Generally the testing center is available Monday –Thursday 9am – 8pm and Friday 9am – 4pm

All exams are individual. Exams will be given based on specific instructions for that exam. Academic Testing is also available One Saturday per month by appointment only. (You may call or visit web site for available dates.)

Q. Do you provide internet service for computerized testing?
A. Yes – we have computers available at all times as well as in house technical support on hand during testing hours should it be needed.

Q. I was not present for my test in class; will my test automatically be sent to the testing center?
A. No – All make-up tests are arranged between the student and his/her instructor, you must first contact your instructor for permission to take your test with us. Once you have made an arrangement with your instructor, you may come in to take your test.

Q. Once I have started the exam, can I leave before it’s complete and return to finish?
A. NO – Once the test has been given you may not leave until you have completed your test.

*NO CELL PHONES, Food or Drink are permitted in the testing center
