Ronald H. Case has presided over a run of unprecedented success since becoming Gloucester County College’s Director of Athletics in 1991.  During his tenure, the Roadrunners have achieved top 3 national finishes on a total of forty-one occasions.  The Roadrunners have won 14 NJCAA Division III National Championships:  Wrestling (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2007), Baseball (1992, 1993, 1999, 2000 & 2005), Men’s Basketball (1994), Men’s Cross Country (1995), and Women’s Cross Country (2006).  Second place national finishes have been earned in Women’s Cross Country (1994, 1995, 1997 & 2007), Men’s Cross Country (1992, 1993, 1994), Wrestling (2001), Baseball (2002, 2003, 2006 & 2008), Men’s Basketball (1996 & 2006), Women’s Track & Field (2007) and Women’s Soccer (2007).  Third place national finishes were earned in Baseball (1995, 1998, 2001, & 2004), Men’s Basketball (1997), Women’s Tennis (1997, 2000, & 2007), Men’s Soccer (1995), Women’s Cross Country (1996) and Softball (2007).

The Gloucester County College Athletic Program was recognized as the top community college program in the state of New Jersey during the 1997-98 school year, when it was awarded the inaugural CAANJ Cup which is presented by the Collegiate Athletic Administrators of New Jersey and the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority.  The Roadrunners continued this tradition by winning the CAANJ Cup in 1998-99, 1999-2000, 2001-02, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08, and 2008-09.  The Roadrunners have also been recognized by the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators as one of the top three NJCAA Non-Scholarship programs in the country over each of the past three years (2nd in 2006-07, 3rd in 2007-08 & 2008-09).

A strong supporter of women’s athletics and gender equity, Case has been instrumental in the development of intercollegiate programs in women’s soccer, softball and women’s basketball.  Under Case’s guidance, the women’s tennis program has prospered and the women’s cross country and track & field programs have risen to national prominence.

Gloucester County College’s facilities have undergone a major face-lift during Case’s tenure.  A new fitness/wellness center, installation of an outdoor irrigation system, and major improvements to all outdoor playing fields are all part of the improvement in athletic facilities that have occurred at the college under Case’s supervision.

In 1998, Ron Case was elected to a four-year term as a member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Executive Committee. He received NACDA’s National Athletic Director of the Year Award for the Northeast Region in 2003, 2006 and again in 2009.  Ron was also inducted into the Gloucester County Sports Hall of Fame in 2009.  Case is a Past-President of the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators, has served as a member of NATYCAA’s Executive Committee since 1993 and received that organization’s highest award, the L. William Miller Award in 2002.  Case also served as the President of the Collegiate Athletic Administrators of New Jersey during the 2000-01 school year and has served on the CAANJ Executive Committee since 1995.

Ron has served all of two-year college athletics nationally in roles as the Council Chair for Athletics with the American Association of Community Colleges and has also served on several AACC Commissions.  He is also a member of the NCAA’s Two-Year College Advisory Committee.

Case served as the Garden State Athletic Conference President from 1996-98 and as the GSAC’s secretary from 1994-96.  He was the NJCAA Region XIX Wrestling Chair 1992-2003 and Baseball Chair from 1994-2003.  In 2003 Ron Case became the Region XIX Women’s Director for all women’s sports.

Prior to coming to GCC, Case was the Women’s Head Soccer and Softball Coach at Colgate University from 1987-91.  From 1979-87 he served as the Men’s Head Soccer and Basketball Coach and Athletic Director at Penn State University’s Delaware County Campus.

Case received his Master's Degree in Physical Education from the State University of New York at Cortland in 1979.  He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Cortland in 1974.
