Men's XC Wins Invitational Meet; Women's XC Third

The Gloucester County College men’s and women’s cross country teams traveled to the campus of Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA for the Mule-Falcon Invitation this weekend.  This was the team’s first time at this event and they made a spectacular showing.  Both teams brought home several medals and trophies for their efforts.

In the women’s race, once again Amanda Dole and Tracy Dobkowski secured top spots early in the race and held on to finish on the awards stand in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.  A tremendous improvement was made by Carly Wroblowski over the previous meet, helping the team to secure a third place trophy along with the strong efforts of Erin Smith and Sam Moyer rounding out the scoring.

In the men’s race, it was an all GCC show.  Right from the gun, the team stepped up and took control of the race.  The men went through the first 2 miles holding onto spots 1,2,3 and 4.  As the race continued to unfold, the men were able to maintain their domination of the front packs and cruised to the team victory.  Alec Connelly and Andre Thompson led the team as they did the previous week, but were joined by a massively improving Robert Griffith and Kevin Walsh at the front of the race. The remaining men: Greg Taylor, John Doughten and Khalif Church, also improved over their previous performances and helped secure the win through hard fought battles to the finish.
