                                   Welcome!

On behalf of the Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders we would like to welcome you to the 8th Annual James G.Atkinson Memorial Holiday Basketball Classic.

The late Gloucester County Freeholder and Freeholder Director James G, Atkinson was a man dedicated to creating great opportunites for the young people living in and around Gloucester County. We believe that the tradition being established with this holiday basketball tournament honors Jimmy's legacy and allows all of its partcipants to showcase their athletic talents.

The tournament will also provide an opportunity to contribute to the academic future of our young people.Proceeds from this tournament are dedicated to the James G. Atkinson Memorial Scholarship Fund at Gloucester County College. Jim would have been very proud of this effort to reward local high school students for their academic accomplishments while at the same time encouraging them to attend this college, which he cared so much about.

2009 High School Cross Country at Gloucester County College

Course Information

Gloucester County College offers three 5K courses, a 2.4 mile freshman course, a 3.4 mile all weather course, and a 1.5 mile middle school course on its campus.  A 5 mile college course is also available.  Maps are available on-line.

High schools, colleges, or clubs need to supply insurance information to GCC Athletic Department in order to practice or schedule meets on the courses.  Please contact Brian Rowan or Fred Swartz at (856) 415-2263 to be placed on the approved list.

An athletic trainer or EMT must be provided for dual, batch, or championship meets

Teams are not permitted to practice on days that meets are scheduled at GCC.
