Roadrunners Compete at Philly Metro 2009

The Gloucester County College cross country teams traveled to the historic course at Belmont Plateau in Fairmount Park this weekend.  They participated in the Philly Metro Invitational.  Despite the challenge of the famous “Parachute Hill,”  the teams faired well and brought home several awards.  On the women’s side, Amanda Dole returned with the lone piece of hardware from what was the biggest race of the season so far.  She finished the race in 14th place to lead the roadrunners to a 14th place finish.  In the men’s race, the pack strength of the team showed itself again.  Andre Thompson and Alec Connelly both brought home trophies in 13th and 15th respectively, while Rob Griffith finished in 22nd and despite his best race of the year, he just missed getting an award.  The men finished in 5th place.
