Men's Soccer Defeats Salem CC in Home Opener

The Roadrunners outshot the Oaks from Salem CC 11-4 and opened their season with a 5-1 win. Soph Matt Maccarone and frosh Sean McDevitt scored two goals apiece. Frosh Ray Volpe assisted on two of the goals. The Roadrunners next play at home on Thursday at 3:30pm vs. Harford CC (Md.)

For the Roadrunners this was a welcome start to the season. Bolstered by soph Matt Maccarone, the team is looking to improve on tough 2008 campaign. Freshman goalkeeper Rich Dott allowed only one goal in his GCC debut and will be counted on if the team is to be successful.

Harford CC will be traveling to GCC from Maryland for a 3:30pm start on Thursday. The Owls are 1-1 on the season.
