Alan Smith joined the GCC coaching staff in 2008 after being named head men's soccer coach.  Under Smith’s helm the Roadrunners improved with each match during the 2008 season. With returning players and a good recruiting class, expectations are high for the 2009 season.

Prior to coaching at GCC, Smith coached soccer at Paulsboro High School for 3 years, Pennsgrove High School for 4 years, and was the acting assistant coach at Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT) for 9 years. 

A native of southern New Jersey, Smith currently resides in Sewell, NJ with his wife, Denise and three sons.
