Ryan Hughes enters his 7th season as head coach of both the men's and women's cross country and track and field programs.  A USATF Level I certified coach, he has been an excellent developer of cross country and track and field athletes producing 29 All-Americans and 10 National Champions in five seasons.  His teams have also finished in the top 6 nationally 9 times including the women's team national championship in 2006.  Hughes has been named Region XIX Coach of the Year 11 times for both cross country and track and field and was also honored as the 2006 NJCAA Div. III National Women’s Coach of the Year.  In 2006 Coach Hughes was also honored by the USA Track & Field and the US Olympic Committee as an "emerging elite" coach and has been invited to coaching conferences around the country.  

In 1995, the Roadrunners captured the NJCAA Division III National Championship and have finished second in the nation on three other occasions. The Roadrunners have also won several Eastern District/Regional Championships and have placed members on the NJCAA All-District team numerous times.

Hughes began his coaching career at the high school level in Missouri where he helped his team earn a state title in 2001.  He ran scholastically at Edgewood High School (now Winslow Township) and at Rowan University.  He graduated from Rowan University in 1999 with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology.  In 2009, he earned his Master's Degree in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis.  He continues to run competitively and currently teaches at Triton High School.

A southern New Jersey native, Hughes currently resides in Glassboro,  NJ.
