Cody Fobes NJCAA All-American

February 23, 2013, Des Moines, IA

The Roadrunners are competing at the NJCAA National Championships and 141lb'er Cody Fobes has become an NJCAA All-American. Fobes joins the list of 64 other All-Americans in GCC Program history.

Cody won his first match over Alex Anderson from Iowa Lakes in an 11-4 decision. He won his second match 6-5 over Tyler Davis from Labette CC. Fobes lost his third bout and moved into the "wrestle back" rounds. Fobes 11-6 win over Peter Stewart of Iowa Western then insured him of no less than an 8th place finish and spot on the All-American podium.

Wrestling District Tournament

February 9, 2013, Nassau County, NY

The Wrestling team will be headed to NY for the Eastern District II Championship Tournament Saturday. We will attempt to stream the event live via our NJCAATV site at www.ihigh.com/gccroadrunners but it can be difficult when away from GCC. Roadrunners Host Williamson Quad

The GCC Wrestling Program hosted the first ever Chuck Williamson Quad Match on Saturday December 1st. The Wrestling Program hopes to make this an annual event and a big day for Junior College Wrestling on the East Coast while honoring former coach Chuck Williamson. Read more...
