The Gloucester County College track and field teams have a long history of success and have had a phenomenal past few years. The men’s team has won the Northeast District championship the past 3 years (05,06,07) and the women’s team has won the past 2 years (06,07). During the past 3 years, the school has had 5 individual national champions and 9 All-Americans!
In 2007, Lisa Jones was the 3000m Steeplechase national champion and earned All-American status in the 1500m and 800m, setting school records in the 1500m and Steeplechase. Emily Santo earned All-American status finishing 2nd in the High Jump and set a new school record in the pole vault. The top finish for the men’s team at Nationals in 2007 was a 3rd place finish in the 4x400m, missing All-American status by less than a second! The team scores at Nationals were just as impressive. The men’s team finished 9th (3rd year in a row placing in the top 10) and the women’s team finished an amazing 2nd for their best track & field season in the history of the school.
