Athletics: Men's Basketball

Excellence, Tradition, and Championships are synonymous with the Gloucester County College Men’s Basketball.  Year after year the “Roadrunners” are the team to beat in NJCAA Division III.  Last season Gloucester County College won the Region XIX title and advanced to a seventh place finish in the NJCAA Division III National Championships.  GCC finished with a 24-11 record with a schedule that was second to none for any NJCAA Division III team in the country.

Gloucester County College won the 1993-1994 NJCAA National Championship and has finished in the top five at the NJCAA National Championships five times in the last ten years.  The “Roadrunners” have won the Region XIX Championship sixteen times in the last twenty five years.

For the 2007-2008 season, GCC Roadrunner Basketball seeks the lofty goal of winning another National Championship.  Guard Tim Smith (Camden Catholic), Guard Luis Charles, and Forward David Branco (Washington Township) return from last years.  Several promising newcomers will bolster the lineup.

Coach Ricky Jackson enters his seventh season as the Head Coach of the “Roadrunners”.  Coach Jackson is recognized as one of the top coaches in NJCAA Division III.  His overall record stands at a gaudy 163-36.  His teams have won three Region XIX championships and have finished 2nd, 4th, and 7th in the NJCAA Division III National Championships.

Quincy Lee and Ron Solomone will serve once again as Assistant Coaches .
