The GCC Roadrunner Softball Team had a dominant season and capped it off on Saturday by winning their first NJCAA Division III National Championship. The Roadrunners finish the season an impressive 49-5 and went undefeated in the National Tournament. Head Coach Steve DePasquale led the way to this championship in his best season at GCC.

In the Championship Tournament, GCC started strong with a 9-1 win over Anne Arundel CC. In Round 2 GCC defeated Monroe CC 6-2. Their Round 3 win over Tompkins-Cortland CC was punctuated by a three-run home run by freshman Justin Mattia in the 9-7 win. On Saturday GCC jumped out to a 4-0 lead but needed two runs in the top of the seventh inning to score the 6-4 win. Katie Trotter and Tina Morgan both worked on the mound for GCC in the Championship Game win.
