The Roadrunners got behind early in both games on Sunday and were able to come from behind to get the win in the first game but not the second. In game one, Lauren Marinelli (Wenonah, NJ/Deptford HS) gave up 3 runs over six innings to get her first win of the season. The Roadrunners depart on Thursday for a trip to Florida where they will play 7 games over the long weekend. The Roadrunners round 3rd...
And score at the plate!!!

Opening day of the softball season brought two wins for the Gloucester County College Roadrunners on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at GCC. The Roadrunners swept Lackawanna CC (PA) in a doubleheader to open the season 2-0. The Roadrunners are pre-season ranked as the number 8 team in the NJCAA Div. III National Poll.

Game one saw Katie Trotter (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown HS) record her first college win after completing a stellar high school career at Williamstown High School. Trotter fell behind 3-0 after the first inning but did not allow another run. The Roadrunners overwhelmed the Lackawanna pitching staff and scored 20 runs in the win.

Game two saw Brittany Sullivan (Thorofare, NJ/Gloucester Catholic HS) also record her win collegiate win. The Roadrunner again overwhelmed the pitching this time scoring 21 runs in the win. Both games were stopped after the fifth inning.

GCC will be back in action on Sunday in a noon doubleheader against Cecil CC (MD).

Sunday should be a compelling matchup as Cecil CC is just outside Div. II top 20 rankings. The Roadrunners won both games against Cecil CC last season by scores of 6-3 and 4-3. The doubleheader will start at noon on Sunday at Gloucester CC.
