transition from soldier to student:
GET READY
- Complete an admissions application
Three ways to complete your GCC admissions application:
- Online - you must create a user name before applying online
- Click HERE to download a printable version
- Go in person to the Student Services Building
You will receive an acceptance letter which includes your
student identification number.
GET CREDIT
- Arrange to have ALL transcripts & military training transcripts sent to the GCC Admissions Office.
- College Transcripts
- Due to your military experience you have likely
earned college credits. GCC may
award military students credit towards a degree based on their
training, coursework, and occupational specialty. Please click HERE for more information on
obtain your military transcripts.
GET SET - schedule your placement test & academic advising

Schedule your Academic Advising by calling the Information Center at 856-415-2197 choose option 1.
GET BENEFITS
- Complete VA form 22-1990 application for Veterans benefits
online at www.gibill.va.gov
(VONAPP)
- Send a copy of your DD214 to the VA
- Bring a copy of your military discharge DD214 form (Member 4
copy) and your Certificate of Eligibility to the Gloucester
County College VA Certifying Official located in the Student
Service Building.
- National Guard/Reservists - bring a copy of your Notice of
Eligibility (NOBE) or Commanders Certificate to the Gloucester
County College VA Certifying Official located in the Student
Service Building.
- National Guard Tuition Waiver students must complete a free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Fill out the veterans enrollment form located in the office of
the Gloucester County College VA Certifying Official in the
Student Service Building.
