General Information: Early Childhood Education Center
Welcome to the Early Childhood Education Center's Website! We are proud to offer the services of one of the finest pre-school settings at a community college in New 
Jersey. We know that this is true because 40 to 50 parents and students tell us so, every year! It is also interesting to note that many of "our" families stay with us for several semesters so that sisters and brothers can continue the family tradition of going to college with Mom or Dad! We are proud of that fact!
Multi-Age groupings, developmentally appropriate environment, hands-on-materials, self-directed learning, enrichment activities provided by community sources, and a well-trained staff are but a few of the benchmarks signifying quality pre-school education. We are aware that it is those factors which have provide your child with an enriched first school experience here at the Early Childhood Education Center.

Parenting Workshops - The Early Childhood Education Center at GCC is committed to providing a healthy, caring, nurturing environment for our families and teachers. Through group discussions, readings, parenting video series, expert lecturers and on-line communications, we will explore current trends and issues facing parents. Flexibility is the key to these unique classes that allow parents of children enrolled in the ECEC to participate at different times and in different ways. Community Parents are invited to attend as well.

Students, faculty, staff and alumni can take advantage of the pre-school education and childcare program at GCC's Early Childhood Education Center. The center is licensed by the State of New Jersey and staffed by certified teachers. In addition, registered school-age children can attend the program when public schools are closed. We can serve pre-school children ages 2 ½ to 5 and school-age children ages 6-12.
The ECEC also offers fun and enriching activities for families throughout the year, plus summer campus. These programs are open to community children. Our teachers are fully certified and maintain a high degree of professionalism through continued training and self improvement.
