INDIVIDUAL ACADEMIC AND PERSONAL ADVISEMENT

EOF Students meet with their assigned EOF Counselor twice a month for academic guidelines and support.  The EOF Counselor will discuss educational and career goals, make certain that the student is taking the right courses required for the chosen major in order to complete a degree or certificate.  The student is assisted with course selection and registration.  In addition, the student is provided financial aid assistance thru out their college career at Gloucester County College.

TUTORING

EOF students who are required to take basic skills (non-credit) courses and/or experiencing difficulty in their classes are expected to attend tutoring in the Student Success Center.  EOF Counselor will monitor the students participation in tutoring.

WORKSHOPS

The EOF Staff and members of the college community (Faculty, Counseling Advisors and Adjuncts) conduct seminars and symposiums to enhance EOF students academic skills and coping techniques to the rigors of college.  Workshop topics range from Time Management, Study Skills, Learning Styles, Note-Taking, Test Anxiety, Math Anxiety, Navigating Academia and College Drama. 

CAREER/ TRANSFER GUIDANCE

The EOF Counselor will make a collaborative effort with the Career and Academic Planning Center (CAP) to ensure that all EOF students are familiar with their services.

SUMMER INSTITUTE (SUMMER PRE-COLLEGE ORIENTATION)SummerInstitute2011

Each summer, the EOF program holds a pre-college orientation designed to help potential EOF students adjust to college life and to the discipline required for college study. The Summer Institute includes workshops geared toward maximizing achievement in and out of the classroom. Seminar topics include academic excellence and motivation, conflict resolution, leadership, and self-assessment.
