The state of New Jersey requires all students who are NJ residents and interested in receiving state aid, to complete the FAFSA, as well as Report Additional Information to the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA) state aid programs. This can be done by:
- Using the link, on your FAFSA confirmation page labeled Start your state application. This enables applicants to respond to state questions in one seamless process.
- Completing the process online at HESAA’s website. Student must use the link labeled Report Additional Information for State Aid.
If you receive any requests via email or through the mail from the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA), please comply with all requests. You must submit all documents that are requested, before the HESAA deadline for consideration of any state aid program including:
- Tuition Aid Grant (TAG)
- Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF)
- NJ STARS
