Federal Work Study is available to eligible Gloucester County College students, who wish to help meet their college costs through employment. Federal Work Study jobs are located on campus as well as off campus at various approved community service sites.
Federal Work Study students will receive a paycheck for hours worked, the funds will not be applied to your bill.
To be eligible to receive Federal Work Study a student must:
• Apply for financial aid at http://www.fafsa.gov
• Submit required documents for file completion
• Demonstrate additional unmet need after all grants and scholarships have been considered
• Be matriculating in an eligible degree or certificate program
• Be making satisfactory academic progress
If you are interested in the Federal Work Study Program and you have completed the financial aid process. See the Office of Financial Aid for more information or email Terri Germano.
The Federal Work Study award amount that appears on your Financial Aid Award Notification is an estimated total of your earning eligibility. This amount represents the maximum limit of FWS wages you may earn for that academic year. The award is not a guarantee of wages to be earned; you will only be paid for the actual hours you have worked.
While classes are in session students may work up to 17 hours/week. You must be enrolled as a Gloucester County College student while you are employed. You must terminate your employment if you cease to be an enrolled student.
