Financial aid is divided into four basic categories: grants, scholarships, loans, and employment programs. Grants and Scholarships do not have to be repaid. Loans usually carry some form of interest payment and must be paid back to the lender.


FEDERAL PROGRAMS

Federal Pell Grant
  • Available to matriculated undergraduates who have NOT earned a first bachelor’s degree and who demonstrate exceptional financial need.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
$600 to $5645* *2013-2014 academic year amounts range
FSEOG
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant
  • Available to matriculated undergraduates who have NOT earned a first bachelor’s degree AND who demonstrate exceptional financial need.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
$100 to $1000 per year* *The average yearly award at Gloucester County College is $1000.

STATE PROGRAMS

TAG
Tuition Assistance Grant
  • Awarded to full-time and part-time undergraduate students demonstrating financial need
  • TAG has a graduated value based upon the student’s financial need and tuition charges at GCC
Awards can range from $546 to $2104 per year.

EOF
Educational Opportunity Fund Grant  
  • Provides access to higher education for economically and educationally disadvantaged students
  • Assist low-income residents who are capable and motivated, but lack adequate preparation for college study
  • Supports a wide array of campus-based outreach and support services to help program participants succeed and graduate.
Awards amounts are dependent upon the availability of state budget funding for this program. In order to be considered for the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program, students must apply to the EOF Office. Visit the EOF website for more details.
