Searching the Catalog -- LOGIN
What is LOGIN?
LOGIN, Libraries of Gloucester/Salem Information network is a consortium of
15 libraries offering automated library services and reciprocal borrowing privileges.
Your valid, bar-coded GCC Library/ID card may be used to check out books and
other materials from Gloucester County College and other
LOGIN member libraries include:
Deptford Public Library, East Greenwich Public Library, Franklin Township Public
Library, Gloucester County Institute of Technology, Gloucester County Public
Library-Mullica Hill; Gloucester County Library-Glassboro Branch, Gloucester
County Library-Greenwich Branch, Gloucester County Library-Logan Branch, Newfield
Public Library, Salem Community College Library, Gloucester County Library-Swedesbora
Branch, West Deptford Public Library, Westville Public Library, and Woodbury
Public Library.
Access
LOGIN is available through the Internet. To access you may enter the address,
http://www.login-libraries.org/
or connect through the Portal. Under Quick
Links, click on Library Online Resources page. Scroll down to Library Catalogs,
select LOGIN.
Searching LOGIN
After logging in, you will see the Search/Home screen.
Choose a search field or select another option: (the default is words or phrase)
- words or phrase
- author
- title
- subject
- series
- periodical title (presently our periodicals are not listed in our catalog, please ask at Reference)
In the library drop down box, select Gloucester College or another member library, or select All for all the LOGIN member libraries.
Searching Tips:
If not sure of an exact title, use words or phrase and enter some of the keywords
A person's name may be entered as Shakespeare, William or William Shakespeare.
If you find too few references, you can expand the search by placing
the connector OR between words or phrases.
For example: child care or day care
military or armed forces
Limit Search
If you find too many references and want to limit your search, you can
refine the search by clicking Limit Search on the menu bar
For example after searching William Shakespeare, you would like to see if we
have any videos of his works, click Limit Search, under type,
select video that circulates for 1 week, click Search.
The resulting list will be videos available at the Circulation Desk. i.e. Hamlet
is VIDEO 1085. Please give this video number to the staff person at the Circulation
Desk.
The librarians encourage you to ask at the Reference Desk for assistance with
searching LOGIN.
