Gloucester County College requires all newly-admitted students to take the college Placement Test. This exam is given to place students at current ability levels in reading, writing, and mathematics.
If you do NOT qualify to be exempt from taking the Placement Test, then you MUST schedule an appointment to take the Placement Test.

Complete The Placement Test
When you arrive to take the Placement Test you MUST:
Present a valid Photo ID (Driver's License, High School ID, or GCC Student ID)
Have your Student ID Number(i.e. - A12345678), which is included in the admission packet, to take the test.
Please note the following:
For test security, all cell phones must be left in the car. Any students dropped off at the college may use the Testing Center phones to call for their rides. If a student brings a cell phone, he/she will not be permitted to test and must reschedule.
No calculators are permitted in the testing room.
The placement test is untimed. Please allow a minimum of 1-2 hours for testing.
When you are finished taking the Placement Test you will receive your results and course placement information immediately. If you do not place in college level in any one of the three areas you will be required to take a basic skill course or courses. You can challenge (retest) each part of the test only one time.
