Campus safety remains particularly unique to law enforcement due to the nature of the educational environment, and governing state and federal regulations. The mission of the Office of the Sheriff on the Gloucester County Educational Campus is to keep the campus and its students, faculty, staff, guests, and visitors safe from crime, and to increase the quality of life in the educational environment on a 24 hour, seven days per week, 365 days a year basis.

While providing the traditional services of the Sheriff's Office, members of the department stand ready to support and augment the Gloucester County Educational Campus Safety and Security Department's resources, in addition to all other law enforcement agencies involved in the protection of the college community. Sheriff personnel recognize that the ability to successfully complete their mission is based on shared mutual respect and responsibility between the Sheriff's Office, state, county and municipal agencies, and the citizens served. As professionals, officers enforce the laws in a fair and impartial manner, recognizing both the statutory and judicial mandates of the Sheriff's Office, and at all times respecting and protecting the constitutional rights of every individual.

On Gloucester County Educational Campus, Sheriff’s Officers perform all types of law enforcement activities, including but not limited to: the administration of first aid to injured students, assisting with vehicle problems, parking and traffic enforcement, patrolling the campus for criminal activity, and assisting with emergency response.
