Mission Statement for the Writer’s Corner

The Writer’s Corner at GCC helps students improve their writing across disciplines and genres.  We parallel the College’s larger mission of promoting “intellectual and cultural enrichment, individual achievement, and professional development.”  To that end, The Writer’s Corner seeks to demystify the writing process and empower student writers to develop effective strategies for any writing situation. We strive to create a campus culture in which student learning goes beyond the classroom.

Goals of The Writer’s Corner

• Provide writing tutoring to all GCC students in all disciplines.
• Promote the use of The Writer’s Corner facilities and the development of regular workshops and presentations.
• Support the efforts of the faculty to develop excellent writers.
• Commitment to access and diversity.
